Communication Works: History and Philosophy
Communication Works has been offering speech and language therapy since 1998. It was originally opened in Nelson, British Columbia and relocated to Chelsea, Quebec in the year 2000. The Chelsea office closed as of April 1, 2015 when Communication Works relocated to Ottawa. The Communication Works office in the Hintonburg area of Ottawa, Ontario closed as of September 1, 2017 and moved to Montreal when Dianne began studying at McGill University in Montreal. Dianne is working part-time in Montreal and Chelsea and accepting new referrals for reading assessments.
Our philosophy is to work with family, significant others and professionals (Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, teachers and education aides), whenever possible, in both the evaluation and intervention process, to provide a more effective treatment program. Evidence-based practice guides our treatment goals and professional development is ongoing in an effort to constantly improve our practice.
